Here we are again talking about excelling or exceeding the bar that was laid way before us, even if that same bar is balancing on the floor. We all have heard the term, “it’s a numbers game” which really means, it’s all found in statistics. And where would we be without Google analytics? If everything we did turned to gold, we’d all be rich bastards. And then our culture would turn to polo shirts, BMWs and caviar. Even those who roll by the seat of their pants find their way into the Hall of fame, and it’s those who relish in spontaneous combustion that have their hands mounted in cement. Let’s never remove the victor from the podium who has earned the right to share it with no one!

The first, for those who are resourceful, they bend the rules because progress must win;

Secondly, they look for the common good, because people need to advance their goals;

Thirdly, they don’t apologize unnecessarily, since it’s so much easier to get forgiveness than ask permission, amen;

Forth, they burn their ships, because this separates all the others with innovative solutions to motivate;

Fifth, they adapt and apply other experiences since there is no other road map to follow;

Six, they play a few hands at once, because it’s better to have two in the hand than thirty two in the bush;

Seventh, they dare to ask for what they need, since that’s the secret to getting something, by just asking!

There is security and safety in normal. And don’t we all want those duel esses flooding our space and time? Not everyone flourishes when they’re apprehensive about their location, even if location, location, location is the key to their inevitable success. Those that care about themselves will not travel outside that box, while those who are concerned for others will walk on the ‘hot bed of coals’ that’s far removed from da box. What’s way out there should not cause fear, and what’s far removed, should stay long gone after our moonwalk.

I see abnormal behavior as the ultimate creative force for stability . . .

Cause there’s just something that always has to happen, to make it happen.

By either daring to mention the reality of climate change.

By making technology your servant, not your master.

By not assuming that self-employment is the answer.

By embracing your spirituality(your own, and not a boxed, prepackaged version).

By finding entertainment in nature instead of electronics.

By actively working for what you believe in.

By eating low on the food chain.

By living ‘car-light’.

By being curious about the opposing viewpoint.

By putting people first.

By ignoring silly unthinkable rules, like number 13 being unlucky.

And risk is all part of being outside this normal envelope we’re encased in.

When we know how far we should jump then hopefully the genetically sealed limitation finder of our manhood will become apparent, yet don’t let that stop the ultimate taste of victory, which comes in three colors, black, blue and bleeding profusely. It’s the rubber meets the road, it’s the friction against the tide, it’s the mortality or the frailty of humanity that eclipses history. And as some of said, “we’re history in the making.” Oh we, who are trapped in America, hold to this underdog theory that plagues our simple mathematical formula for greatness. We think it’s just hard work, but statistics prove otherwise, that there’s more to the stats than meets the eye. So never look for stop, never yield to caution, and for sure, never ever, buckle under the pressure of when to cave or when not to cave.

Seasoned cagger term refers to someone who has been doing something long enough to have experienced just about everything that could or would happen in a sport or any other endeavor, and is thus less likely to make mistakes when the stakes are high.

That’s a question that only the skeptics may dabble with. We all need that rope a dope to hang ourselves out to dry, and there’s nothing wrong with someone flying headfirst into some rock formation because they think they’re ‘Birdman’. It’s funny how we are the instant critics to someone who is living in an extreme X games lifestyle, while we bunker down in some cushy monster over-sized bean bag, draped in mink, while we VIPE our way into obscurity. I don’t find it idolatry to desire to be greater than or to go farther. There’s something innate or inherent in all those ‘over the toppers’ who crave for only gusto with no reward. And I still can’t get that image of Mr. Branson ballooning to who knows where?

Perceptive, as it relates to how far we should go, is all about what lies ahead of us and doing the math with the total:

By opening up our eyes.

By paying more attention.

By developing and trusting our intuition.

By shutting out distractions.

By recognizing that just because someone else hasn’t perceived something, doesn’t mean what we perceive is not true!
